PHILADELPHIA – July 2021 – The Riverfront Alliance of Delaware County (RADC), a consortium of businesses and non-profit groups that implements physical, economic and social programs to advance the development of the Delaware County waterfront and the adjoining city of Chester, Pennsylvania, announced the appointment of Jon Cohn, founder and chief executive officer of Agronomed Pharmaceuticals, to its Board of Directors.
Cohn has led Agronomed Pharmaceuticals, a leader in the medical cannabis industry, for four years. Previously, he served in leadership roles for numerous business processes and IT solutions organizations primarily within the pharmaceutical, pharmacy, and financial industry. Agronomed has a strong presence as a key employer in Chester, having added close to 125 jobs for local residents over the last 18 months, building a new facility and continuing job expansion and economic growth in the area. Cohn joins a board of directors led by Pennsylvania Market President of TD Bank Tom Shoemaker that includes chief executive officers, business owners, and nonprofit leaders throughout the region.
“I’m thrilled to join the Riverfront Alliance board, and work toward implementing long-term investments in the Chester community and its surrounding residents and businesses,” said Cohn. “We look forward to supporting and collaborating with local universities, developing internships, on-the-job training, and providing educational resources to boost the economy.”
“We are delighted to partner with Jon Cohn and Agronomed, as the mutual support will allow us both to grow and develop in ways that we simply wouldn’t have had the capacity to do before,” said Lisa Gaffney, executive director of RADC. “Their knowledge of the local landscape will play an instrumental role in generating greater opportunities for the community.”
In addition to becoming a member of the Riverfront Alliance of Delaware County, Cohn plans for Agronomed to make a multi-year financial commitment, starting with a donation of $50,000, to help improve playgrounds and parks in the surrounding area to further develop the Chester community.
The Riverfront Alliance of Delaware County continues to implement the Chester Waterfront Master Plan, which serves as a framework to direct the redevelopment of the waterfront, promote better connections to the local community and establish Chester as a regional destination to stay and live for residents, businesses and visitors.
